# Overview and new message notifications

> How to see today's received and sent messages, new friends and unhandled chats on the LINE management Overview, and how to get desktop notifications for new messages.

On the **Overview** tab, you see today's received and sent messages, new friends, and the number of chats waiting for a reply (a dashboard). Daily trends appear too. When a new message arrives, LINE management in the icon column on the left shows how many friends have unread messages. Turn on **Notify** to get desktop notifications as well.

## Before you begin

- Connect a LINE Official Account first ([Connect a LINE Official Account](/docs/en/line/connect-account/)).
- People with **Assignments** to specific accounts see numbers for their assigned accounts only.

## View the overview

1. In LINE management, open the **Overview** tab. Choose an account at the top to see only that account.
2. Check **Received today**, **Sent today** and **New friends today**, along with the change **vs yesterday**.
3. **Waiting** shows how many friends have the status **Unhandled** in the inbox. Click it to open the inbox.
4. Choose a period to see the trends for received, sent and new friends, and the **By day** table.

| Number | What it counts |
| --- | --- |
| Received | Messages from friends. Button taps aren't counted |
| Sent | Messages that were delivered. Broadcasts count once per person |
| New friends, Blocked | People who became friends and people who blocked the account, counted from when the account was connected |

Dates are in Japan time.

## Get notified of new messages

1. Click **Notify** at the top right of LINE management.
2. Turn on **Desktop (this browser)**.
3. If your browser asks whether to allow notifications, allow them.

While mukumo is open, even on other pages, you get a desktop notification when a friend sends a new message. The setting applies to each browser on each device. If you see **Notifications are blocked in your browser**, allow notifications for mukumo in the browser settings.
