Under Entry routes on the Tracking tab, you record where friends came from, per QR code or URL (source tracking). You can add a tag or start a scenario for friends who come through a route. Compare routes shows friend adds, blocks and conversions for each route. With Distribution, one URL or QR code sends people to add one of several accounts as a friend.
Before you begin
- Entry routes need a LINE MINI App. The route URL opens inside LINE and identifies the person before they add the account (Connect a LINE Official Account, “Set up a LINE MINI App”). Distribution alone doesn’t need it.
- Members and above create and change entry routes and distributions. People with Assignments to specific accounts don’t see the Tracking tab.
Create an entry route
- In LINE management, open Entry routes on the Tracking tab and click Create entry route.
- Enter a route name and choose the Account.
- If you like, choose a Tag for friends from this route and a Scenario for friends from this route.
- After you save, the Route URL and QR code appear. Click Save QR code to get an image for flyers, business cards, websites and so on.
Each route shows opens, linked people, friends and conversions. Set up conversions under Conversions on the Tracking tab.
Compare routes
Under Compare routes below Entry routes, choose a period to compare the routes.
| Column | Contents |
|---|---|
| Visitors | People who opened the route URL or QR code in the period |
| Friend adds | People who became friends in the period |
| Add rate | Friend adds as a share of visitors |
| Blocks | People who blocked the account in the period |
| Conversions | Conversions counted in the period |
| Friends now | People who are friends now (doesn’t depend on the period) |
| Friend adds trend | Friend adds by day |
Friend adds, blocks and conversions count toward the first route a friend opened. People who became friends without a route are grouped under (No route), and people from deleted routes under (Deleted routes). Dates are in Japan time.
Distribute friend adds
When you run several Official Accounts, one URL or QR code can send people to add one of them as a friend.
- Open Distribution on the Tracking tab and click Create a distribution.
- Enter a Name and choose How to send (see the table below).
- Choose the Accounts (in this order) and order them with Move up and Move down.
- Turn on Accepting and save.
- Use the URL or QR code with Copy URL or Show QR.
| How to send | Where people go |
|---|---|
| In turn | Sends people to the usable accounts one at a time in turn, so friends are spread out instead of gathering in one account |
| Top first | Sends people to the first usable account, moving to the next only when it becomes unusable (backup accounts) |
- Accounts that are paused, have an access token that doesn’t work, or appear to be made unavailable by LINE are skipped.
- When no account is usable, or Accepting is off, people see a page saying Friend adds are paused right now. The list also shows how many times no account was usable.
See what happens on friend add
On friend add on the Automation tab lists, for each account, what friends get and what happens when they add the account. It’s view only; to change something, use its own tab.
- Greeting (set it up in Manage accounts)
- Tags and scenarios for people from entry routes
- Scenarios that start on friend add
- Automations that run on friend add
- Rich menu (the default menu and tag-based menus)
When someone unblocks and adds the account again, the greeting is sent and automations run unless they’re set to Once per friend. Entry route tags and scenarios, and scenarios that start on friend add, don’t start a second time.
