Add your site, then paste one tag line inside the <head> of every page on your website. A few seconds after a page with the tag is opened, numbers start to appear on the Web analytics screen.
Before you begin
- Add the Web analytics service. An Owner or Admin can add it from the Services screen.
- Site settings are saved in your organization’s dedicated storage (a separate database for each organization). Adding Web analytics sets it up automatically, and it’s ready in about a minute (until then you’ll see Setting up dedicated storage, and the page switches over on its own). If you see Couldn’t set up dedicated storage, an owner or admin selects Try again. Each person can have it set up automatically for up to 3 organizations. If you need more, or it still doesn’t work after trying again, contact support.
- Adding a site and changing its settings need the Member role or higher.
Add a site and install the tag
- Open Analytics in the icon column on the left, then select Add site.
- In Site domain, enter a domain such as
example.com. You can also paste a URL that starts withhttps://. Subdomains (such asshop.example.com) are tracked too. - Select Add and show the tag. The Settings & tag tab opens.
- Under Install the tag, select Copy for the one-line tag, then paste it inside the
<head>of every page on your website. The copied tag already contains your site’s public key in place ofPUBLIC_KEY.
<script async src="https://app.mukumo.com/i/PUBLIC_KEY.js"></script>Where to paste it:
| How your site is built | Where to paste |
|---|---|
| WordPress | The theme’s header.php, or a plugin that lets you add code to the header |
| Wix, STUDIO, Peraichi, Shopify and similar | The “custom code” or “head code” field |
Check that it arrived
- Open a page that has the tag in your browser.
- In Settings & tag, select Check installation.
- When you see “Received … Tracking is working.”, you’re done. No data yet at the top of the screen changes to Receiving data.
If it doesn’t arrive, check the following:
- Tracked domains includes the domain of the site where you pasted the tag. Data from other domains is discarded.
- If your site uses a Content-Security-Policy, you’ve added
https://app.mukumo.comtoscript-srcandconnect-src. - You aren’t opening the page in a browser with an ad blocker.
Exclude your own or your team’s visits
- In your own browser, open your site with
?mukumo_optout=1added, for examplehttps://example.com/?mukumo_optout=1. That browser stops sending data. Use?mukumo_optout=0to undo it. - To exclude your office network as a whole, add it to IP addresses to exclude in Settings & tag. Ranges such as
192.0.2.0/24work too.
Add it to your privacy policy
Once the tag is installed, visitor information is sent to TSUQREA Inc. (mukumo). What to add to your privacy policy in Settings & tag has sample text that follows your current settings. Copy it and add it to your site’s privacy policy. For a full description of the information sent, see Information sent by Web analytics.
