You invite members by email from Settings > Members. An invitation link is valid for 7 days. You choose the person’s role when you invite them.
Before you begin
- Owners and admins can invite people and change roles.
- Each plan has a limit on how many people can be in an organization. Invitations waiting for a reply count too.

No one can change their own role. Only an owner can change an owner’s role or make someone else an owner.
Invite someone
- Open Settings from the account menu (at the bottom of the left navigation).
- Open Members.
- In Invite members, enter the Email and the Role (Admin, Member, or Viewer), then select Send invite.
The person gets an email titled “Invitation to (organization name)”. If it doesn’t arrive, you can give them the link directly with Copy invite link in the Pending invitations list. If you invite the same email address again, the earlier invitation is revoked.
If you were invited
- Open the link in the email and select Sign in to join.
- Log in with the email address that was invited. (If you’re new, your account is created right away.)
- Select Join.
If you log in with a different email address, you see “This invitation was sent to a different email address”.
Change a role or remove a member
- Change a role in the Role column of the Members list.
- When an owner selects Owner, a confirmation screen appears. Select Make owner. You can have two or more owners.
- When you remove someone, they lose access to the organization. To let them back in, invite them again.
Change the organization icon
Owners and admins can choose and crop an organization image in the same way as a personal profile image.
- Open Settings > General.
- Under Organization icon, select Upload image and choose a PNG, JPEG, or WebP image.
- Drag to reposition the image, adjust its size with the slider, and select Save. The area inside the square becomes the icon.
The saved image appears in the organization menu and switcher. Remove image restores the organization’s initials. Closing the crop dialog with Cancel leaves the saved image unchanged.
Leave or switch organizations
- You can leave from Leave organization in Settings > General. If there is only one owner, that owner can’t leave.
- If you belong to several organizations, select your icon at the bottom of the left navigation to open the account menu, point to the current organization, then select the organization to switch to. You can also choose it under “Switch organization” in search (⌘K).
- In the same place, Create organization creates a new organization. On the Free plan, one person can be the owner of up to 10 organizations.
