Add keywords

On this page

You can add up to 50 keywords at a time from the Keywords page. You can group the keywords you add to filter them, or ask muku to analyze them.

Before you begin

  • Owners, admins, and members can do this. Roles with view-only access can’t add or delete keywords.
  • Add a site first (Set up for the first time).

Add keywords

  1. Click SEO in the icon column on the left, then open Keywords.
  2. Click Add keywords.
  3. Choose a Site, then enter one keyword per line in the Keywords field (up to 50 at a time, up to 80 characters each).
  4. If you like, enter a Group (optional) (up to 30 characters).
  5. After you add them, you see a message such as “Added 5 keywords”. Keywords you already track aren’t added again.

How many you can add

Plan Keywords (total across all sites in the organization)
Free 50
Standard 500
Pro 5,000

On every plan, one site can have up to 500 keywords. If you go over the limit, you see how many more you can add.

Set a group

  1. Select keywords in the list.
  2. Click Change group, enter a group name, and save.

If you save with the group name empty, the keywords leave their group. On the Groups page, you can see how each group is doing.

Delete keywords

  1. Select keywords in the list.
  2. Click Delete, then click Delete in the confirmation window.

You can export what the list is showing as a CSV. You can’t import from a CSV.

Change alert conditions

On a site’s Settings page, change the alert conditions and click Save.

Condition Starting setting
When rank drops On (when it drops 5 or more positions from the previous day)
When a keyword falls out of the top 100 On
When a keyword enters the top 10 Off

Matching changes appear on the Alerts page.

Add competitors

On the Competitors page, you can add up to 5 competitor sites for each site. You can’t add your own site.

Ask muku

You can also ask muku to add or delete keywords, or to change competitors or settings. muku shows a proposal for the change and runs it only when you click Approve and run. Changes it makes are recorded in the Audit log as “via AI”.
