muku is the AI assistant in mukumo. It reads the data on your screen to answer, and it makes changes to sites and keywords only after you approve them. You can change its name and look freely.
How to open it
- Click Ask muku at the top right. You can also open and close it with ⌘J (Ctrl+J on Windows).
- Click AI in the icon column on the left to talk in the full-screen AI Assistant page.
- Ask a question straight from the ⌘K (Ctrl+K) search.
Ways to talk
| Feature | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Chat | Ask in text. You can also attach images (PNG, JPEG, WebP, up to 4 images at a time, 5 MB each) |
| Dictate | Click Dictate and speak. Your words turn into text (up to 3 minutes at a time). You can edit it before you send |
| Read aloud | Click Read aloud on a reply to hear it spoken |
| Call | Click the phone button, then Call, to talk by voice (up to 30 minutes at a time) |
| Tour | In the account menu (at the bottom of the left navigation), open Help > Tour. It highlights places on the screen one by one. You can also ask muku to give you a tour |
Chat, read aloud, and calls use credits (Credit usage). If you ask for a call, muku can also call you later (in a browser, it rings only while mukumo is open).
What you can ask
| Type | Examples | Approval |
|---|---|---|
| Look up and answer | Why rankings moved, site audit results, remaining credits | Not needed |
| Research the web | Background research on competitors or topics, long research tasks | Not needed |
| Calculate | Summarize ranking and keyword data into a table | Not needed |
| Change things | Add a site, add or delete keywords, change competitors or settings, rename the organization | Needed |
| Send on LINE | A message to friends | Needed (a sent message can’t be undone) |
| Boards | Summarize what’s on a board | Not needed |
| Place on a board | Create a new board, add sticky notes or a mind map (Have muku make a board) | Needed |
| Tasks | Find projects or tasks, view what’s in a task | Not needed |
| Create or change tasks | Create projects or tasks, change status, assignee, or due date, write comments (Work with your team, guests, and other organizations) | Needed |
When you ask for a change, muku shows a card titled “Proposal: (what it will do)”. It runs the change only when you click Approve and run. Click Reject to cancel. Changes it makes are recorded in the Audit log as “via AI”.
If you have a view-only role, you can’t make changes by asking muku. Actions only owners and admins can do, such as renaming the organization, work the same way when you ask muku.
What muku can’t do
- It doesn’t handle other organizations’ data or other people’s data.
- It doesn’t raise your role or skip approval.
- It doesn’t ask for passwords, API keys, or card numbers.
- It doesn’t publish things such as blog posts (it stops at a draft).
Memory
muku keeps the preferences it picks up during a conversation as “Pending”. It uses only the ones you approve in later replies (within this organization only).
- Open Personalize in the settings.
- In Memory, you can Approve, Add, and delete memories.
How conversation data is handled
- Your conversations are private to you. Other members of your organization can’t see them.
- muku reads only the data of your current organization.
- External AI services process replies and voice.
- When you delete a conversation, the list entry, the conversation itself, and any attached images are removed. The “×” on the panel only removes it from recent chats. It doesn’t delete the conversation.
- If you send a thumbs-down (👎), a copy of that message and the reply is kept until you take the rating back. The operations team reviews them to improve replies.
- Records used to check service quality are stored separately from your conversations, so deleting a conversation doesn’t remove them.
